P. Nsy. to XII Dear Parents Kindly keep the note of the following: 1. Kindly deposit the monthly fee of your ward by 10th of every month to avoid late fee charges. Fee can be deposited in school fee office or online in the school website www.greenlandsubhashnagar.com. 2. All the students must come to school on time and smartly dressed up in proper school uniform. Uniform must be neat and tidy. The students must carry a clean handkerchief to school. I-Card is compulsory. 3. Kindly deposit the following things of your ward with the Class Incharge by tomorrow. • One civil dress with name, class & section written on it alongwith two folders for keeping academic record (for P.Nsy. to K.G only). • One packet of paper napkins, apron and table mat (P. Nsy. to III). (Class IV onwards students must keep the same in their carry bags.) • 4 Passport Size Photographs, Photocopy of Adhar Card/ DOB Certificate if not deposited in the school at the time of admission.(All Classes) 4. 91st Regional Abacus Competition Festival, 2018

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana firmly believes in putting forth one step ahead for students’ intellectual growth and honing their self expression. The intellectual appraisal added another wings of success in the glorious name of school. Tania student of VIII standard earned laurels to the school by participating in 91st Regional Abacus Competition Festival, 2018 organised by Brain O’ Brain at Himachal Bhawan, Chandigarh on May 20, 2018. She bagged the gold medal ranking top position Open Category-Z. Another feather of Success was added to the school glory by Jaspreet of VI standard by capturing Second position in I-3 Level 9 category. Both the children proved that success comes only to those who strive hard. The Principal of the school, Mrs. Jyoti Pujara applauded them for their achievement and wished them better future prospects. The distinguish Principal always inspired her students to participate in such competitions. In her speech she said, “ If you work hard and know where you are going , You’ll get there.”

Splash Pool Party

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana organized a ‘Splash Pool Party’ for the Tiny-Tots of K. G. wing in the school premises. The little ones put their swim suits on and enjoyed the splash activity to beat the heat of the scorching sun. Big splash pools were kept in the inner school play station. They were abundantly decorated with colourful balloons. Children in colourful swimsuits came swarming into the splash pool and enjoyed wading through water and had a gala time. The students jumped and romped in the water. They played gleefully with colourful balls and balloons in the huge splash pools. The zeal and enthusiasm of blooming buds was evident while playing with the toys and enjoying the fountains. They splashed water at each other. The celebratory music beats at the party made the surroundings more delightful. The kiddies tapped their feet dancing and hopping on different tunes. They also enjoyed water sports with their teachers. They relished different juices and summer fruits like watermelon, mango, melon etc. The teachers explained the importance of fruits intake in diet for mental and physical growth. The event was enjoyed by tiny tots and teachers thoroughly as it was a relieving activity in the monotonous routine and a kick off start for everyone to enjoy the summer vacation with new zeal. The charismatic Principal Mrs. Jyoti Pujara made sure that kids were provided utter level of security during the activities. Her happiness knew no bounds to see her little champs participating joyfully. She conveyed students the role of fun filled activities in their holistic development. Taking a step further, the children were told about the importance of conserving and reusing water. At the end of the session the kids were still beaming and were spotted in no hurry to beat the retreat.

Mother’s Day Celebration

You are the embodiment of Love, You are like a boon from above Like you there is no other, You’re the only one, you are my mother. Green Land Convent, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana celebrated Mother’s Day with great vigor and vehemence by paying sincere encomium to the great creation of the Lord of universe and the epitome of love and sacrifice, ‘Mother’. Keeping in mind the selfless efforts put by a mother for the well beings of her children plethora of events were organised at the school premises. A mother is a woman like no other. She gave us life, nurtured us, taught us, fought for us and most importantly loves us unconditionally. All the activities were planned to applaud the untired efforts put by a mother for her children. The Primary wing of the school I to III was engulfed in making vibrant Greeting Cards to express their love for their adorable Super Moms. All the blooming buds participated with zeal and enthusiasm. Class IV to V students beautifully put forward their efforts in making technicoloured Photo Frames exhibited their love and affection towards their mothers. The Senior Wing of the school also put forth their best by participating in Inter House Salad cum Mocktail Making Competition. Students displayed their culinary skill and exhibited their art of making dining table more tempting by adding taste, delight in preparation and nutrition value in vibrant salad and dazzling mocktail. As truly said, “A mother’s heart is brave and sacrifices its own pleasures for the welfare of her family”. She is like a flower each one is beautiful and unique. To add more colours to the day Inter House Flower Arrangement Competition was organized for the students of classes VI onwards to bring out the inner creativity of the students. Flowers are the symbol of everlasting love and indelible bond. The competition enabled the pupil to pay gratitude to their mothers for everything they have done to make their life cheerful and comfortable. It was a treat to watch the Green Knights arranging the various coloured flowers in a perfect way. The fragrance of the flower mesmerized everyone present there. The Principal of the school, Ms. Jyoti Pujara congratulated the winner and applauded the efforts of all the participants . The First position was baggad by SHAKTI House. The second position was won by KIRTI House and the Third position went to JYOTI House in flower Making competition. As per the judgement of Salad cum Mocktail Making Competition, KIRTI House grabbed first position. Second and third positions were secured by SHAKTI House and JYOTI House respectively. The honourable Principal of this great temple of learning encourages such activities as they help the children to adopt healthy life style. She guided the students to respect their mothers and focused on the importance and role of a mother in building a child as a good human being. She further motivated the students to love and take care of their mothers, the precious gift of God.

Karate & Abacus State level Tournament

Students of Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana performed exceptionally good and embarked their potential by bringing various positions in Karate & Abacus State level Tournaments held recently. The students earned medals by playing with full vigour and zeal in different categories of Boys & Girls. In Inter School Seishikai Shito-ryu Karate Championship, Sana Rana in U- 7 (Girls) category & Love Kumar in U-10 (Boys) category secured first position and Harshita Verma in U-6 (Girls) category, Varpunit in U-9 (Boys) category, Amanjit in U-7 (Boys) category & Abhijeet in U-12 (Boys) category won third position. Taniya and Drishti (T4 Category, Level 10) added another feather to the cap of school by bagging first position in Abacus Competition held recently at Tyagraj Stadium, New Delhi. Principal Ms. Jyoti congratulated the winning students and appreciated them for their efforts and adding 4 gold medals and 4 bronze medals in the talent basket of the school. She emphasized on the importance of sports and games in the present scenario and encouraged the students to keep on the good work and develop into wholesome personalities. She applauded the coaches and teachers who left no stone unturned during their practice to make their dreams come true.

World Red Cross Day

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana celebrated ‘World Red Cross Day’ in order to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Sir J Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross Movement. On this occasion, an awareness programme was organized with the theme “First Aid’ in an amplified manner to provide on the basic first aid training and to make the children aware of diverse and innovative range of services to the humanity. The theme behind it was to disseminate first aid knowledge and skills among young people. The training began with orientation and briefing on the relevance of providing first aid to those in need. Demonstrations were given by the students on various emergency scenarios and how to remain calm and deal efficiently in such situations. ‘First Aid Kit’ activity was also organized wherein every class maintained their own first aid kit. The Principal of the school, Ms. Jyoti stressed on the importance of conducting such events which help in disseminating first aid knowledge to save themselves and their loved ones from unexpected hazards such as severe bleeding, fainting, spells etc. She exhorted the students to be helping hands and to lead a life of service to reaffirm our commitment to the humanity.

Cambridge English Language Assessment Program

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana organized a two days’ 'Teacher Training Workshop' of Cambridge English Language Assessment to develop the teaching learning strategies to train students for Key and Preliminary English Test and for the First and Advanced Certificate of English from Cambridge, U.K. The training was very fruitful as the teachers were introduced with Cambridge programmes and techniques. They were provided guidance on how to teach the pupils for Cambridge English Exams and made them aware about the assessment criteria, its aims & objectives, teaching aids & approaches and also about the engrossed resources that are available to support their teaching. It also encouraged the teachers to reflect on and take greater responsibility for their teaching as a facilitator and to become more innovative in their classroom practice. The session aroused a lot of interest and enthusiasm among the teachers with a major focus on activity based teaching so that students develop greater interest in language competence and do really well in exams. The teachers who attended were exceptional in their desire to explore and engage with suggested approaches to the teaching and utilization of exam focused techniques. The teacher involvement produced intense and detailed discussion with animated practice. The Principal of the school, Ms. Jyoti Pujara said that supporting teachers in their professional development leads to improve outcomes for learners and these training workshops provide hands on experience for teachers under the guidance of experienced facilitators. She appreciated the untiring efforts of the trainer to guide the teachers and also congratulated all the participants on successfully completing the training. On the whole, it was a very interactive, engaging and an insightful session.

SCHOOL REOPENING

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar reopened its doors and welcomed the students after the rejuvenating summer break. The whole campus was reverberated with the beaming faces of the Green knights and the hustle and bustle of the parents getting their kids back to school on time so as to have them to begin their first day punctually. The children were elated to see their friends and teachers back plunged into the normal routine packed with full of fun and recreation. Also, students of kindergarten enjoyed watching a very interesting, funny and pleasurable movie ‘Stuart Little’. “Teachers Training Programme” was conducted before the opening of the school which helped the teachers to explore new ways to teaching through audio-visual aids with the aim to bring qualitative changes in teaching learning process and making it student friendly. The school Principal, Ms. Jyoti Pujara welcomed the students and motivated them to do their study with passion. She also informed the students about the upcoming events and inspired them to participate in every activity both in scholastic and co- scholastic. She also addressed the teachers to be life long learners and play a positive role as a facilitator to inspire the young learners and prepare them for the future. On the whole, the entire campus was echoed with enthusiasm and positive vibrancy.

4th International Karate Championship

Sana Rana students of Class V of Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana participated in the 4th International Karate Championship on 28th and 29th July, 2018 at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata organized by All India Seishin Kai Shito –Ryu Karate-Do Federation and bagged the Bronze Medal. It was a hard competition where number of students from all over India participated giving tough competition to each other. Sana Rana played under 10 category and by clinching the Bronze Medal, She not only made her School Proud but also the whole of India. The School Principal, Mrs. Jyoti Pujara appreciated the student and felt highly proud to have such students being trained in the school. The school students and staff were in a spirit on the grand achievement of Sana at International level at such a small age.

The school premise was aptly decorated depicting the joviality of the occasion. The most revered, the Chairman cum Director of Chain of Green Land Schools – Sh. Rajesh Rudhra, President of the Trust Sh. Shabad Rudhra, General Secretary of the Trust Mrs. Usha Rudhra and Ms. Vijayata were among the galaxy of dignitaries present on the occasion. The Principal, Ms. Jyoti Pujara offered a floral welcome to the eminent guests. The school students and staff were also present with gleeful faces to welcome the Principals of all Green Land Schools – Mrs. Baldeep Pandher, Mrs. Vinita Sanan, Mrs. Gunmeet, Mrs. Vinod Khajuria and Mrs. Gurpreet Kaur. It was a moment of great joy and elation. The celebration started with a soulful rendition of Shabads followed by Langar. The students of school choir and teachers recited melodious Shabads taking every one into the world of devotion and spirituality. Students presented a shining example of discipline and perseverance. The entire staff & the students of the school participated in this holy occasion whole heartedly and took a pledge to follow the path of humanity, piety, truth and peace. Shabads and Hymns allured in the positive energy as students from senior classes joined their hands in prayer to seek the grace of Hazoor Maharaj Param Sant Kirpal Singh Ji. The Chairman of Chain of Green Land Schools, Sh. Rajesh Rudhra in his speech stressed on following the principles of Guru. He gave full credit of success of Chain of Green Land Schools to Sant Kirpal Singh Ji Maharaj. He stated that it is only the blessings of our Guru that we are enjoying pinnacle of glory today. He exhorted students to value the blessings of good education and model themselves as living a righteous life. He blessed the children to be healthy, happy and successful in the coming years, with positive energy flowing to fulfil the dreams of their parents. Principal of the school, Ms. Jyoti Pujara showered her blessings and urged the students to work with more devotion and dedication. She said that the beginning of a new session is always an auspicious time - a time for new hopes and renewed dreams. On the whole, the shabad kirtan and satsang programme were performed under the divine fervor & spirituality. The school enviornment was devotional and blissfull everywhere. Fourth International Yoga Day

Yoga is more than the union of our head to our knees, it is the union of ourselves with the divine……… Ms. Jyoyi Pujara Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar Ludhiana celebrated ‘Fourth International Yoga Day’ to enhance the feeling of well-being and better quality of life amongst its students and teachers. The great institution initiated one day practice session to create awareness about the essence of yogic exercises. To elevate the healthy way of life and imbibe the value of discipline, the students and the teachers were summoned in the school campus. The occasion began with the mellifluous prayer. A Power Point Presentation was shown demonstrating various Asanas and Importance of Yoga in One’s Life. All the paricipants were introduced to Yogasanas, Pranayama, Meditation, Dhyana, Kapalbhati, Bhadrasana etc. The Whole Campus drenched in the nectarean flute music of divine love. The teachers and the students participated enthusiastically and got the chance to know how yoga embodies unity of mind and body. The Principal, Mrs. Jyoti Pujara calls yoga “an expression of life.” In her speech she said, “Yoga essentially means finding the key to the nature of existence.” She inspired her students and teachers to develop a habit of early rising and practising yoga daily as it has countless benefits that positively affect our physical and mental well - being. She also pointed out that a regular practice of yoga can help us to reduce stress, memorize the things, increase memory power, and understand a concept and its context. She exhorted upon that yoga is the scientific way of living healthy and increasing life expectancy. She motivated her students to make yoga indispensable part of their lives. The Programme ended with a vote of thanks and the resolution taking ceremony of practising yoga everyday.

STORY TELLING COMPETITION

“Story Telling is the most powerful way to put ideas into the World today.” To enhance the confidence and speaking skills of the students and to observe ‘International Tiger Day’, An Inter Class Story Telling Competition was organized on the topic ‘The Jungle Safari’ at Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar for students of pre-primary and I std. Around 70 students from different sections participated in the competition with great enthusiasm and zeal. Story Telling is an art that helps students to connect to humanity. It is what that helps students to link with their past and provides a glimpse into the future. Taking this fact into consideration the children got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. All the participants came up with different stories and narrated them on stage with great zeal and enthusiasm. All the class teachers put their efforts to teach the narration of stories to these tiny tots. The telling of stories by these little ones in various costumes with props and voice modulation proved that a real great talent finds its happiness in its execution. This competition was really beneficial for the students to pursue a rich and enjoyable language learning experience. The whole school was captivated with the charm, confidence and conviction of students. The students were judged on parameters like confidence, pronunciation, costume, props and on the overall presentation. Ms. Amrita and Ms. Baby Sharma were the judges of the competition. The worthy Principal of the school Ms. Jyoti Pujara who is one of the finest narrators declared the final result. She congratulated the winners and applauded all the participants for their superb performances. She also highlighted the importance of ‘International Tiger Day’ and motivated the students to ‘To save the environment by saving the rare species of the tiger.’ She also explained the right way of narrating a story and emphasized that story telling is a spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings. She motivated the students to always showcase their talent in spectra of activities.

Punjab School Zonal Tournaments

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana sparkled in the Punjab School Zonal Tournaments held recently. Players were in high spirit adding feathers to the glorious school cap. Our school Badminton team (U-19 boys) performed exceptionally good and won bronze medal after beating St. Thomas Sr. Sec. School, Ludhiana by 2-1. Players Shubham, Pratham, Agampreet, Gurpinder and Abhinav Sharma were in jubilant mood taking proud to air. Another felicitation added to the school fame was brought by players in Volleyball tournament. Kavita, Anshika, Diksha, Arshleen, Kashish, Gurmehak, Virinda, Anjali and Sonali (U-17 Girls) bagged third position and were appreciated for their stupendous efforts and talents. The sports gems exhibited their high sportsmanship in the Hockey tournament as well. Keshav Rana, Taranpreet Singh, Enosh & Jashandeep from U- 14 (Boys) and Parampuneet, Ragvenderpal, Jashanjot, Bhavuk, Anand, Navpreet, Bharamveer & Rajveer Singh from U-19 (Boys) got selected for Punjab School District Tournament. Principal of the school, Ms. Jyoti Pujara congratulated the winning teams and inspired them to keep on attaining laurels in future as well. She said that the students have been putting up excellent performances in various sports events as they are trained under the supervision of specialized coaches. She further added that participation in sports activities enhance the development of sports skills, high levels of discipline and team spirit among students.

Dilkash Selected in Ludhiana District Cricket Association

Passionate and keen player, Dilkash, the student of VIII std. of Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana has been selected in Ludhiana District Cricket Association out of 250 aspirants who attended these trials. He added one more feather to his cap which is a matter of pride to mention. Dilkash has always been appreciated for his all-rounder performance in zonal as well as district level cricket tournaments. In session 2017-18 & 2018-19 he represented school cricket team in District Level Tournament and won Gold medal by securing first position. He was also selected in PCA trials in session 2017-18. Chairman of the school, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra congratulated Dilkash on his achievement and inspired him to keep on performing with the same zeal and enthusiasm. He highlighted the fact that the school continues its legacy of producing State and National level players in sports arena. Principal of the school, Dr. Jyoti Pujara congratulated the young achiever for his stupendous performance. She blessed the jubilant ‘Dilkash’ on his success and achievement. She encouraged him to reach far greater heights and said that, "The three pillars of cricket - discipline, determination and devotion - can not only guide one in cricket but in one's life." Dilkash was in high spirit as left no stone unturned during practice to make his dreams come true.

SUMMER CAMP

The two weeks Summer Camp concluded at Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana with a high note amid fun and learning. The camp was a hub of rejuvenation, rejoice, recreation and reinforcement where different activities were clubbed to make students improve their concentration, learning, imagination and develop their social skills. Spoken English, Personality Development, Western Dance, Classical Dance, Calligraphy, Abacus, Art & Craft, Sports like Cricket, Volleyball, Badminton, Karate, Skating, Kabaddi, Chess, Hockey, fitness were comprised to make it as a wholesome exposure for learners. More than 120 students participated in that array of activities. Students were zealous to participate in these activities. A great change was noticed in the students as compared to the time back when they joined the camp. On the last day of the camp a function was organized to exhibit the talent of students which was groomed in this camp. The show involved most of the students in a spectacular performance enriched with rich music, dance, play, speeches etc. The students presented their foundation of talents during this fantastic series of presentations. The confidence and the superb performance of the students on the stage kept the audience glued to their seats throughout the show. The Chairman of Chain of Green Land Schools Sh. Rajesh Rudhra applauded the efforts of students and staff members. He expressed his happiness and encouraged the budding green knights to continue their toil and attain greater heights in life. He said that that these camps groom the hidden talent of students. The Principal Mrs. Jyoti Pujara appreciated staff & students to put a great show all together. She said educational activities add learning in a fun and meaningful way is the need of the hour. These activities make the students love and enjoy the sweet creativity. On the whole, children were blooming with beaming faces and a smile that they were proud to be a part of this camp.

Baisakhi Celebration

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana celebrated ‘Baisakhi- the important harvest festival of Punjab with great zeal and fervour. Students as well as the teachers were in their gala mood and displayed great enthusiasm for the celebration. A whole set up of punjabi culture & tradition was visible on the day. On this day many activities and competitions were held in the school. ‘Squash Making Activity’ was held for the students of Pre-Primary and I Std. An ‘Inter House Singing Competition’ was organized for classes II-V. Students attired in pretty Punjabi suits with glittering dupattas looked awesome. The presentation of Punjabi song was quite mesmerizing and reminded the audience about the great heritage and culture of Punjab. A vibrant & enthralling performance of Bhangra and Giddha fascinated the audience. The hall echoed with loud music and clapping by the audience. Students also gave speeches on Jallianwala Bagh massacre saluting all the martyrs who lost their lives when thousands of unarmed men, women and children were killed by the British army on the orders of General Dyer. Principal Ms. Jyoti added more colours to this celebration & addressed the students highlighting the religious & social importance of the festival. She threw a limelight on the relevance of this day and also motivated the students to enrich their rich cultural heritage by imbibing moral values. She announced the judgement & congratulated the winners of Inter House Singing Competition and encouraged everybody to maintain beautiful culture of Punjab. First position was obtained by Jagriti House, Second position was acquired by Kirti House and Third position was won by Jyoti House. The whole school wore the festive look of rich Punjabi culture. On the whole the Baisakhi celebration was enjoyed by one and all.

It was a day imbued with a sense of pride, humility and leadership to help the students feel the sense of responsibility and keeping the tradition of the institution. It was followed by an Oath Taking Ceremony by the elected School Council pledging solidarity, loyalty and devotion to their alma mater. Teachers who have been chosen as the House Minister and Deputy Minister were also announced formally. The revered Principal congratulated them and admonished them to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties. She also exhorted them to uphold the values. She reminded them that with position comes responsibility towards themselves, their school and peers and struggles help one to achieve heights. She advised them to be role models and extended a supporting hand to the students’ council for the smooth running of the school. On the whole, the stage lit up with vibrant colors of the different flags and the event reinstated the faith in the caliber and leadership of the future generation.

Closing of Summer Camp

The two weeks Summer Camp concluded at Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar Ludhiana with high note amid fun, frolic and lifelong learning. The prestigious school regimented a wide range of activities like Spoken English, Western Dance and Music, Classical Dance and Music, Flameless Cooking, Art & Craft, Calligraphy, Sports like Cricket, Basketball, Badminton, Skating, Chess, Yoga, Hockey, Fitness and Aerobics etc. The camp was organized to cater the needs of young learners and to encourage them to enjoy diversity of extra-curricular activities and enable them to use their leisure time in a productive and fun-filled way. A wide range of activities were adjunct to provide the students an opportunity for introspection, self-discipline, self-discovery and creativity. The two weeks Summer Camp provided the students adventurous, active and healthy summer. The students actively and robustly participated in the various activities. On the last day of the Camp a function was organized to entitle the students to unveil their flair and artistry in which they were groomed during the camp. The students spellbound the audience with their talent and astounding performances. Sh. Rajesh Rudra, the Chairman of Chain of Green Land Schools and the Principal, Mrs. Jyoti Pujara appreciated the students and the staff members for organising the blend of learning and fun filled activities and making the summer camp a success. They said that the main aim of the summer camp was to enable the students to develop their abilities and enthusiasm for sports and extra-curricular activities which they can enjoy and excel in. Thus, the school creates plenty of opportunities for the students to carve out a niche for themselves in various fields by participating in sports and various activities. The principal in her address call for proactive approach from parents to identify, nurture and appreciate their children’s creativities. Inter class Poetry Recitation Competition

“Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words” - Robert Frost An Inter class Poetry Recitation Competition was organized at Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar for the students of Primary Wing. Beauty is the realm of poetry, children enjoy the beauty of expression, thoughts, feeling, rhyme, rhythm and music of words. Taking all these facts into consideration the children got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. The competition inspired the children to come forward and recite on stage. The children came up with different poems on the topic “Environment Conservation” and recited them withgreat zeal and enthusiasm. The competition was conducted in two categories i.e. Category-A (II & III standard) and Category-B (IV-V standard). Four students from each class & section participated in two categories for the competition. All the class teachers put their efforts to recite the poems in the coherent form and students proved that a really great talent finds its happiness in execution. This competition really proved beneficial for the students to pursue a rich and enjoyable language learning experience. The whole school was captivated with the charm, confidence and conviction of students. The students were judged on parameters like confidence, voice modulation, dramatic appropriateness, the props used and on the overall presentation. Ms. Deepali Headmistress and Ms. Priya teacher of Primary Wing were the judges. But the final judgment was made by Mrs. Jyoti Pujara who is a poet and worthy Principal of the school. She also declared the final result. From Category A Sanvi Sharma of Class III Chaucer stood first, whereas, Sneha of Class II Bacon, Aahana Sharma of Class III Chaucer and Rajvi of Class II Bacon, Tanvi of Class III Bacon secured the second and third position respectively. From Category B Naina of Class IV Chaucer & Ritika of Class IV Bacon were declared as the first position holder and Simran of Class IV Chaucer and Smayra of Class IV Bacon stood second and Mehak of Class V Chaucer and Yashita of Class IV Bacon stood third in the competition. The honourable Principal of the school congratulated the winners and applauded all the participants for their superb performance. HAND WASH DAY

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana organized ‘Global Hand Washing Day’. School evidently believes in all round development of the students, in this prospects school strives to inculcate good habits among students. This year’s theme is ‘Our Hands, Our Future’, highlighting how the benefits of handwashing go beyond protecting one’s own health. Good handwashing can prevent disease outbreaks, reduce school absences, and improve healthcare outcomes. Teachers had shown Power Point Presentation to the students conveying the message of hygiene. Students prepared charts depicting healthy and hygienic habits. The steps of proper cleaning of hands were displayed in the charts. Students explained their depictions in form of class presentations. It was practical experience earned by students as teachers instructed them to wash the hands properly following up the correct seven steps. Principal Ms. Jyoti Pujara highlighted the importance of hand hygiene as it plays a vital role in the healthy growth of students. She motivated them to convey the same message to their parents and neighbour to get the healthy & fit society. The motto of organizing this event truly lived up when these students found concerned for cleaning their hands before & after their Lunch break during school timing.

CBSE Cluster XVI- TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT

Star players of Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana embarked their potential by bringing positions in CBSE Cluster XVI held at Amritsar from 27th to 30th September, 2018. The students emerged victorious in Table Tennis Tournament in different categories of Girls. In table tennis tournament U-17 (Girls), Jaansheen, Muskan, Pratiksha won third position. In U-19 (Girls) Chhavi and Harsimranjeet bagged third position by clinching the Bronze Medal. Students were in high spirits after securing positions in the competition. They said it was a cut throat competition. Chairman cum Director of the Chain of Green Land Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra congratulated the winning teams and inspired them to play with harmony and team spirit. He encouraged the students to participate more in games for their all-round development. He further added that sports rejuvenate the mind and soul & helps in the overall development of the child. Honesty, determination, discipline, wisdom, humility and aspirations are the words they need to pay heed to. She also advised them to be the role models and exemplary in their work. The event ended on a note of positivity and willingness, with the New Council Body promising to do their best in whichever way they can. They were ready to encounter the challenges that would come on their way & would work upon their weaknesses as well. In this way, the investiture ceremony concluded with lot of hopes & aspirations for our future leaders & it was a great success with the participation of all our students & teachers, without whom it would not have been so impactful. On the whole the day was a mark of leadership, day of greetings in a gesture of leadership approach on which the school motto resides.

Inter School Vedik Declamation Contest

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana taking ecstatic proud on Dhruv Arora the student of class IX who added wings of success to the school glory by securing third position in Inter School Vedik Declamation Contest organized by Ved Prachar Mandal. Dhruv Arora was happy and excited to get the reward of his hard work. He said it was a cut throat competition. The Principal Mrs. Jyoti Pujara congratulated & appreciated the efforts of Dhruv Arora and boosted his spirits high by motivating him to continue the efforts in future. She said that education is not only learning of facts but also training of the mind. So, students just need a catalyst to ignite the spark of knowledge.

Ambedkar Jayanti

Green Land Convent School New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana, celebrated the day in order to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of father of Indian Constitution - Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar and his contributions for the people of India. On the occasion a special Morning Assembly was organized on a spiritual note with the school prayer. Four of our students Suhani, Jannat, Sana and Kushagar of Class V spoke in brief about him. In their speech, they cited about Dr. Ambedkar’s birth and his contribution in the framing of our Indian Constitution and also its application which is our future responsibility. Students were made aware about Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's personality as an economist, anthropologist and socialist. The Principal of the school, Ms. Jyoti and the students paid floral tribute to the great legend of India. She highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s major contribution i.e. protecting the Fundamental Rights and Directive Principles of State Policy in the Indian Constitution. She inspired the students with a beautiful quote by Dr. Ambedkar “One need not be born into great and influential families but with goal, hard work and responsibilities one can become great”. She told that Dr. B. R. Ambedkar was as an economist who propounded gold monetization much before the world. On the whole the day echoed with the immense contribution of pioneer of our motherland.

Inter House Dance Competition

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana organized ‘Inter House Dance Competition’ on the occasion of International Dance Day for the students of Primary Section in which students participated with great vigour and enthusiasm. The day was introduced in 1982 by the International Dance Committee of the UNESCO, International Theatre Institute. The day was chosen to commemorate the birthday of Jean George’s Noverre, a French dancer. The students showcased their talent through various dance forms across the world like Jazz, Hip Hop and Indian classical dance. It was really an amazing sight to see students dancing with a bright smile and confidence. The hall echoed with loud music and clapping by the audience. Principal of the school, Ms. Jyoti Pujara said that she was proud to see such higher level of talent among students. She said that kids love to dance and they can dance to the rhythms of music, bring out their inner dancing star & learn a medley of dance moves from around the world. Such events aim at bringing elements of fun and excitement through the spirit of competition. She applauded the efforts of the students & announced the judgement. First position was obtained by Kirti House, Second position was acquired by Shakti House and Third position was won by Jyoti House. On the whole the day had a complete ambience of joy and happiness. A sense of satisfaction and expression of pride could be seen on everybody’s countenance.

World Environment Day

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana celebrated ‘World Environment Day’ to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining and defending Mother Nature and the entire planet from further destruction that stems from natural disasters caused by human activities. The school firmly believes in instilling the strong sense of belongingness towards the planet Earth. “ Let’s join our hands to make out biological mother, the earth a better place to live in.” With this thought, the school campus was reverberated with excitement and enthusiasm. The Green Nights were sensitized about the need to save the environment, and the beauty and bounty of our planet. The colourful charts like ‘Go Green’, ‘Save Mother Earth’, Don’t Blow It – Good Planets are Hard to Find’ were put up to encourage the children to be eco- friendly and preserving biodiversity. An Inter House Poster Making Competition was held in which the students painted their creative thoughts on nature conservation and exhibited their artistic skills. A very strong message was conveyed through the posters that man’s greed not need that depletes the nature and brings calamities to the created order. Keeping in mind the philosophy of the Father of Nation to save environment, The Principal, Mrs. Jyoti Pujara, Strived hard to imbibe values in her students not only by preaching but by developing appropriate attitude to take requisite measures towards the well-being of mother earth and one’s ownself. She appreciated the efforts made by the students to showcase their intellectual acumen. She highlighted the importance of celebrating the ‘World Environment Day’ which brings happiness to every individual. In her speech she said that humans are both the creatures and moulders of the environment. Thus it is the time to make the transition from arm choir activism to environment protection. Conclusively, the entire day was devoted to the environment as of a veridical adherence to our divine planet, Earth.

Van Mahotsav Week

If a tree is saved even at the cost of one’s head, ‘its’ worth it. Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana commenced ‘Van Mahotsav Week’ with great massive awareness and educational purpose. Meaningful messages were put up all around on the importance of trees and how they are the 'Lifelines'. The overall objective of celebrating the day is to sensitise masses and to generate awareness among the students. The students were a step ahead with a scintillating programme in the campus. Adding more fervour to the proceedings and celebrations, a spectrum of activities were planned for the day for children to let them get a feel of the earth and nature. The Plantation Drive and Poster Making Competition were organized for students of all classes to incorporate the sensitivity towards resources around us and to aware the students to consciously slow down the effect of technology and modernization on the dwindling and fragile eco-system. Each poster had a unique story to tell and spread the message that the green plant we live in must be cared for. Trees are the kindest thing we grow as they fulfill all our basic needs. But their depletion has become the serious problem. In the 'Plantation Drive' the students planted the saplings of different types of plants like Christmas tree, Postal Palm, Areca Palm, Rabish Palm, China Palm etc. brought by them which inculcate the sense of responsibility among students. The worthy school Principal and teachers also planted various saplings. The Principal of the school, Ms. Jyoti addressed that this initiative has been taken so that the students learn and spread awareness about the importance of ‘Flora and Fauna’ in human life as they are the pillars of future world. She proposed to make the entire campus polythene free which will encourage others to realize their social and moral duty towards our environment. She also recalled the words of great poet John Milton, “ Accuse not nature, it hath done her part, do thou but thine.” and inspired the students to plant more and more trees to bringing back our lost forests. Thus the programme evoked feelings of love for God’s beautiful creation and everyone at the school renewed the pledge to protect the environment. Van Mahotsav week came up to be a great success. The event helped to bring awareness about the green cover around us. It also helped in strengthening the bond between plants and humans. Students got to learn a lot and will always cherish the memories of this important occasion.

HINDI DECLAMATION

Green land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana adding in plethora of inter-class activities organized Hindi Declamation contest supported by Ved Prachar Mandal. The competition aimed to promote the skills of effective Public speaking. The participants enthusiastically expressed their views on the topics: “Gita’s soul – KARMA”, “Stress Management Tool – YOGA”, “The goal of Human Life – GOD REALISATION”, “Fortune and Hope” etc. The listeners were impressed by the confidence exhibited by the students as they voiced their opinion in strong and powerful words in neck to neck competition where each tried to outshine the other to the best of his / her ability. The Principal of the school, Mrs. Jyoti Pujara addressed and appreciated students for their efforts. She said that by participating in such declamation contests students learn the skills of combining eloquent language with equally eloquent delivery which is basic purpose of the education. She added that declamation is a fantastic speaking event to improve public speaking prowess and it provides opportunity for budding youth to show their hidden talent. Dhruv of Class X-Bacon was the winner of Declamation contest followed by Inderpreet Kaur of Class X-Chaucer at second position and Savleen Singh of Class X-Chaucer at Third position. On the whole, it was truly a spectacular experience offering a perfect platform for the exchange of ideas and creativity.

CBSE Cluster NORTH Zone –II CHESS TOURNAMENT

Enthusiastic and energetic players of Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana embarked their potential by bringing positions in CBSE Cluster NORTH Zone –II held at Haryana (Dist. Jind) from 30th September to 2nd October, 2018. Arunav, Deepanshu, Rohit and Tushar emerged victorious in chess Team by clinching Bronze Medal for getting third position in U-19 (Boys) category. Students were in high spirits after securing positions and clinching medals in the competition and said it was a cut throat competition. Chairman of the school, Dr. Rajesh Rudra appreciated the students for their hardwork and dedication towards the game. He said that the school hopes to get many more such victories in upcoming tournaments. Principal of the school, Dr. Jyoti Pujara congratulated the winning students and appreciated them for the stupendous efforts and their talents. She motivated them to progress their skills and involvement in the game will help them to flourish in future. Winners with their glorious and outstanding achievements through focus and concentration made the teachers and parents feel proud.

S.S.T Quiz Competition on the occasion of World Heritage Day

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana organized an Inter House S.S.T Quiz Competition on the occasion of World Heritage Day for the students of Class VI to VIII. The day was observed with an aim to create awareness among the students to conserve and protect the valuable assets and cultural heritage across the world. The students from all the four houses – Jagriti, Jyoti, Kirti and Shakti House participated in it with great enthusiasm and vigour. It was a mind boggling six round competition including General Question Answer Round, Abbreviation Round, Multiple Choice Round, Identify the Image Round, Rapid Fire Round and Buzzer Round which engaged the student’s attention completely for one hour. The students showcased their brilliance by rapidly answering the questions. There were also several rounds for audience. The Principal of the school Ms. Jyoti addressed the students and gave her heartiest congratulations to all the participants, audience as well as the winners. She motivated them to take keen interest in all the spheres of life. She also gave a message that heritage is a treasure trove of the past and it is the responsibility of the present generation to protect, preserve and promote its continuity for the future generation. GRADUATION CEREMONY

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, observed the ‘Graduation Ceremony’ of Session 2016-17 for the tiny tots moving on from Kindergarten to Class I. The Chairman of Chain of Green Land Schools Sh. Rajesh Rudhra was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He was given a warm floral welcome by the Principal Ms. Jyoti. Also, the tiny angels themselves welcomed the eminent guests of the occassion. The ceremony was conducted to felicitate these toddlers graduate to primary with the feel of stepping ahead a significant phase of school life. The gala event was attended by parents who were as excited as the kids themselves when they saw their little ones dressed up in ceremonial graduation gowns and caps receiving certificates of graduation on stage. The day was celebrated with great spirit and enthusiasm. The cultural programme began by lighting the sacred lamp and invoking the blessings of the Almighty. It followed by the cultural extravaganza presented on the stage in the form of melodious songs and rhythmic dances highlighting the blessings of teachers & parents on the children. A PowerPoint presentation highlighting the activities they indulged in during this span of three years was also shown. The Chairman of the school, Sh. Rajesh Rudhra addressed the august gathering and congratulated the parents & the students. He lauded the parent’s efforts, perseverance, motivation and support that contributed to the successful completion of their child's pre-school. He said that parents and teachers are like a caring potter who shape and mould the child with tender love, care into a confident individual. He assured that the children will continue to be nurtured with knowledge, values and dedication as they continue their education at Green Land. Seeing the spirited performances by the kids, the Principal Ms. Jyoti congratulated the parents and kids of kindergarten and said "This event is like planting a high dream in the tender minds as advocated by our President, Dr. Abdul Kalam.” She appealed the parents to give their precious time to their young ones so that we may feel proud for them in the future. She thanked the worthy guest for sparing their valuable time for the young scholars. Parents appreciated the efforts put in by the school staff for congenial growth of their children and polishing them. The ceremony ended with the National Anthem.

SCHOOL REOPENING

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar School reopened their doors and welcomed the students after the rejuvenating summer break. The roads were busy with the hustle and bustle of parents getting their children to school on time so as to have them start the new day punctually. Children were brimming with joy and elation to see their friends and teachers back plunged into the normal routine packed with plethora of fun and enjoyment. Also a “Teacher Training Programme” was conducted before the re-opening of school. The training specifically focused on exploring newer and interesting approaches to teaching through audio-visual aids with the aim to bring qualitative changes in teaching methodology of different subjects, hopefully making it more interesting and student friendly. Smart Class Training was an interesting session for the teachers as it helped them to learn new ways to bring about a difference in their classrooms and give students an opportunity to excel. The training was participative in nature. In addition to that teachers also participated in Declamation and G.K. Quiz Competition. Principal of the School, Mrs. Jyoti Pujara welcomed the students and told the upcoming events and activities for the coming months. She motivated the students to participate in every activity both in scholastic and co-scholastic. Guru Ravidas Jayanti 2018

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana paid obeisance to ‘Guru Ravidas Ji’ on his 641st birth anniversary. On this auspicious day the school choir sang shabad and bhajans in melodious voice making the whole environment religious and pious. The students also delivered speech on the life history of Guru Ravidas Ji, his contributions and teachings. Principal Ms. Jyoti Pujara, paid floral tribute to Guru Ravidas ji describing Him as a social religious improver, a philosopher and Theosophist. She said that He propagated society to come out of shackles of caste, creed and colour which sets the path of ideal and virtuous living, universal humanism and the oneness of mankind. She told that Guru Ravidas ji stood against social discrimination and favoured equality in society. She further added that like Guru ji we all should live a life of simplicity and piety. If we follow the teachings of Him we can build a better world.

CAMBRIDGE COUNSELLING SESSION

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar organized an orientation programme for the parents under the able guidance of Chairman of the School, Sh. Rajesh Rudhra and School Principal, Ms. Jyoti Pujara to familiarize the parents for the enrollment of their child for Cambridge, UK in its quest to provide international education to its students. The orientation programme proved to be a sincere effort made by the school in educating the parents to look after and guide their children in a proper manner. In addition to this, parents were briefed about Cambridge International Examinations that provided adequate information to accustom themselves for the new venture. The School Principal addressed the gathering and gave guidelines about effective parenting. She laid stress on effective communication between the school & the parents and also sought their support and suggestions so that the children could be provided the best for their overall development. She also suggested different measures to nurture a child with love and care to build a strong foundation for a glorious future. In an interactive session, Chairman of the school answered the queries of the parents and gave them assurance of doing the best for our students. To make a strong foundation for student intelligence he aware the parents about new projects in school where a child is given ample opportunities to observe, listen, speak and act. World Health Day

‘World Health Day’ was observed in Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana. On the occasion a ‘Vegetable Printing Activity’ for the Kindergarten students was conducted with great enthusiasm to highlight the significance of good health and well-being. A well-developed involvement of kids was discerned and they showed intense eagerness and enjoyment. Green knights brought different vegetables and enjoyed learning about vegetables in a delectable way. Tiny tots along with their teachers designed beautiful paintings & backgrounds with vegetable printing. They also learnt about healthy eating habits and table manners and how to take care of their health while staying away from germs and infections. Principal Mrs. Jyoti addressed the students on common health problems, hand washing and the important healthy eating habits. She emphasized on good eating habits that include a balanced diet, drinking water, fruit in every meal, glass of milk every day and alerted them against junk food. She also spoke about the importance of sports and exercise for good health. On the whole, the students assured that they will strictly avoid junk food and concentrate only on healthy food.

English Declamation & Bookmark Making Competition

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana conducted ‘Inter House English Declamation Competition’ and ‘Inter Class Bookmark Making Competition’ to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading. The day was observed with an aim to create awareness among the students to develop extra reading habits and also to promote the skills of effective Public speaking. The participants of class IX-XII enthusiastically expressed their views in an ‘Inter House English Declamation Competition’ on the topics: A room without books is like a body without a soul, There is no friend as loyal as a book, Well-read man is loved by all, If you love books enough, books will love you back and Books are nothing but to inspire. They took the stage with aplomb and their performance was incredible. The listeners were impressed by the confidence exhibited by the students as they voiced their opinion in strong and powerful words in neck to neck competition where each tried to outshine the other to the best of his or her ability. Students of classes IV & V designed and decorated the bookmarks and wrote an inspiring message showcasing their love for books and reading in an 'Inter Class Bookmark Making Competition'. The Judgement was carried out based on the Effectiveness of design, Creativity, Originality, Neatness, and Conviction of the message. It was indeed not only learning but also a fun-filled activity. Musical Rain Festivity

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana organized a ‘Musical Rain Festivity’ for the students of Kindergarten wing to get relief from the scorching heat and learn something while having a fun. The blooming buds enjoyed the rain showers and relished the monsoon season. The school keeps on conducting innovation techniques and styles with which learning could be made more rewarding and interesting. Instead of confining the kids in their classes, they were brought out in open by their mentors to enjoy the playful rainy weather. The little stars really had the festivity time with their friends in their colourful raincoats and multileveled umbrellas. They welcomed raindrops by dancing, hopping, springing and jumping together in the rain. The beaming faces and bright eyes of the tiny Green Knights infused energy and mesmerized each and everyone present there. The kids learned new vocabulary and recited many rhymes along with teachers. They enjoyed the fragrance of wet soil, gush of the fresh air and sprouting green plants and flowers. The School Principal, Mrs. Jyoti Pujara said that such activities assist the children to be extrovert. Even the shyest students too participated with other students in such a convenient and child friendly learning environment. The students experienced nature and its benevolence in order to be kind and affectionate. The purpose of the event was to introduce the tiny–tots to the monsoon season and all the best practices that go along with it. On the whole it was a great fun for the blooming buds who enjoyed the whole experience of rain and chills in the heat.

CELEBRAING JANAMASHTMI

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana celebrated the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna- ‘Janamashtami’ with sheer joy and enthusiasm. Beautiful decorations were put up to make this event more cheerful and colorful. A beautiful backdrop was made with little Krishna in the cradle. The celebration began with the religious abhishek ceremony of Laddoo Gopal and chanting of the auspicious gayatri mantra and bhajans which filled the entire atmosphere with religious fervor. Pre-primary wing was transformed into a land of joy, celebration and happiness on this occasion. Adorable tiny tots donned the roles of Lord Shri Krishna, Radha and Gopikas amongst many other characters related to Janmashtami. To remember the day, a movie was shown to take kids to the journey of Lord Krishna from his birth to the time when he battles out the evil King Kans and to the time when he shows himself as Lord Vishnu. Students presented a beautiful dance form ‘Go Go Go Govinda’ and spell bound the hearts of the audience. Another soul-touching dance formation was presented ‘Mayiya Yashodha’. With their laudable performance, they lighted up the stage and mesmerized the audience. Dhruv of class X and Mehak Sidhu of class IX delivered a speech to remind the importance of ‘Krishna Ashtmi’ illustrating the fact that whenever there will be dominance of malevolence ‘He’ will reincarnate to destroy the evil and save the good. The Principal of the school, Ms. Jyoti enlightened everyone to the origin of this celebration with her thoughts provoking lines ‘Work is Worship’. She conveyed the best wishes for the occasion and encouraged the children to emulate the qualities of Lord Krishna. She narrated the story of Lord Krishna to the students and explained the beautiful thought from Geeta Saar “Man is made by his belief, as he believes, so he is.” Harmonious in form, tantalizing and vibrant in hue- the function won the hearts of everyone present.

Surgical Strike Day

As per C.B.S.E instruction Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar celebrated Surgical Strike Day to mark the second anniversary of the Indian Army's strike against terror cells across the Line of Control in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The basic objective behind celebrating the day was to commemorate the valour and sacrifice of the armed forces. A special morning assembly was organised where students were made aware about surgical strike. School choir enthralled everyone with patriotic songs. Students were shown video clippings on the life of soldiers. Handmade cards of appreciation to soldiers were also made with heart touching messages such as "We are proud of our brave hearts soldiers and salute the Indian Army", "I love you Indian Army. I want to say just one thing, you are the loveliest soul on entire earth because you help, care, and safeguard us from the threat we are facing due to political, natural and egoist reasons", "Soldiers are the biggest strength of any country. We thank our heroes who have given their lives serving and protecting the nation." Principal of the school, Dr. Jyoti Pujara said that we bow our heads in honour of all those soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for our nation. She motivated the students to join the armed forces in future and serve the country in an elite manner.

Hawan on commencement of new session

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana organized a ‘Sacred Havan’ in its premises to invoke the Almighty’s blessings at the commencement of new session. The most revered, the Chairman cum Director of Chain of Green Land Schools – Sh. Rajesh Rudhra, President of the Trust Sh. Shabad Rudhra, General Secretary of the Trust Mrs. Usha Rudhra and Ms. Vijayata were among the galaxy of dignitaries present on the occasion. The Principal, Ms. Jyoti Pujara offered a floral welcome to the eminent guests. Students were also present with gleeful faces stepping for new classes. It was a moment of great joy and elation. The havan began with the chanting of Gayatri Mantra followed by bhajans and offerings to the sacred fire. The learned priest, Sh. Ajay Vashisht chanted the sacred mantras to purify the environment. The fragrance of the ‘Samagri’ kindled the golden flames and spread the positive vibration and energy all around. The entire staff & the students of the school participated in this holy act whole heartedly and took a pledge to follow the path of humanity, piety, truth and peace. Bhajans and Hymns allured in the positive energy as students from all classes joined their hands in prayer to seek Lord's grace. The Chairman of Chain of Green Land Schools, Sh. FANCY DRESS COMPETITION

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana organised 'Fancy Dress Competition' on the theme 'The Jungle Safari'. The purpose of conducting the competition was not only to blend learning with fun but also to develop confidence in the students by giving them an opportunity to get on the stage and speak in front of an audience. During the competition, kids were excited to be in the costumes of their favourite characters as animals and birds like elephant, lion, monkey, zebra, peacock, parrot etc. They spoke few sentences on the character that they depicted and some of them tried to truly imitate the same. The effort and hard work of children was highly commendable. They also gave cultural performances by singing and dancing on different jungle songs and created a wonderful ambience. Principal of the school, Ms. Jyoti Pujara said that it was a delight to watch the children as they came up and spoke about their favourite animals that they were dressed up as. She appreciated the students with their precious pearls of encouragement. She announced the Judgement and congratulated the winners by wishing good luck to tiny tots for their future endeavours. On the whole, the competition proved to be great learning experience for the students and gave them a platform to explore their hidden talents.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

Yoga is more than the union of our head to our knees, it is the union of ourselves with the Divine…………… Ms. Jyoti Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana celebrated ‘Third International Day of Yoga’ on 21st June, 2017. The school invited students and teachers to perform asana to promote yoga as a healthy way of life and to imbibe the value of discipline. The programme began with prayer. The enthusiastic students and teachers dressed in t-shirt and track pant sat on the mat. A Power Point Presentation was shown demonstrating various Asana and the Importance of Yoga in one’s life. The various postures of yoga like Vrikshasana, Uttaanaasana, Trikonaasana, Bhadrasana, Shashankaasana, Bhujangasana, Pawana Muktaasana, Pranayama, etc. were done by everyone under the guidance of Sports Teacher with alight pleasant background flute music. Children got the chance to know how yoga embodies unity of mind and body. The Principal of the school Ms. Jyoti told various benefits of early rising and practicing yoga daily. She also pointed out the contribution of yoga in maintaining fitness and good health and how it helps students to memorize something and understand a concept and its context. She said that yoga is the scientific way of living healthy and increasing life expectancy. On the whole, the students and teachers bent and twisted their bodies in complex postures to mark International Yoga Day. The programme ended with a vote of thanks and the resolution taking ceremony of practicing yoga every day.

69th Republic Day Celebration 2018

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana celebrated the 69th Republic Day of our country in all its solemnity and grandeur. The whole atmosphere was instilled with patriotic fervour, gaiety and enthusiasm. Sh. Rajesh Rudhra, Chairman of Chain of Green Land Schools graced the occasion. He was given a warm and hearty floral welcome by the Principal Ms. Jyoti Pujara, all the staff members and the students of the school. The ceremony began with the hoisting of the National Flag by Sh. Rajesh Rudhra followed by the National Anthem. The students saluted the National Flag and pledged themselves to upholding the honour and integrity, diversity and uniqueness that is “India”. Chairman of the school took salute from the students during parade. A cultural bonanza was organized including different dance numbers and vocal melodies. The melodious music and graceful movements of the dancers were spellbinding. A musical melody spiced with patriotism entitled ‘Vande Matram’ was really appreciable. Student of the Year Award was given to the 26 best students by the Chairman of the school. The pioneer and talented students were acknowledged because of their own perseverance, constancy & immovability and also for their laudable behaviour, co—operative attitude and excellence in curricular and co- curricular activities. Sh. Rajesh Rudhra addressed the students and made them aware that this is the day when our country became a truly Sovereign, Secular, Democratic and Republic. He told them that we should always try to highten the standard of our tricolor which is the real service to the motherland as India is our mother and Tricolour is our father. He encouraged them to maintain the sanctity and decorum of democracy by becoming responsible citizens of India. Principal Ms. Jyoti Pujara urged the students to do their best and feel proud to be Indians. She spoke eloquently about our diverse nation and the relevance of the Constitution and the Preamble. She enthralled the students with inspirational stories and reiterated the need for being resolute in our path to achieve our goals. On the whole the day wore a festive look filled with the spirit of patriotism and enthusiasm.

The Birth Anniversary of Hazoor Maharaj Param Sant Kirpal Singh Ji

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana celebrated pristined occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Hazoor Maharaj Param Sant Kirpal Singh Ji with great devotion and zeal. The main motive to celebrate this day was to impart the values, morals, principles and teachings of the great Guru. The festive event commemorated by paying obeisance to the holy spirit with Shabad enchantings by school choir, which empowered the gathering and ambience with religious essence. Everyone was engrossed with heart and soul during Shabad Kirtan. Speech by teachers and students acknowledged the gathering with the eventful life of divine soul Param Sant Kirpal Singh Ji Maharaj and his teachings inculcating the feeling of brotherhood, humanity and a firm belief in Almighty. The Principal of the school, Ms. Jyoti Pujara congratulated everyone and she said that blessed are those who have a Guru like him. She motivated the students that they should imbibe his teachings and try to reform themselves for the sake of humanity and to attain eternity. She crowned him as the living master, a spiritual, illustrious, leader, mystic poet and humanitarian who wrote an extensive collection of books on spirituality. Conclusively the celebration of Hazoor Maharaj Param Sant Kirpal Singh Ji’s birthday filled the tenor with spirituality.

Intra Class Healthy Tiffin Competition

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana organized an 'Intra Class Healthy Tiffin Competition' for the students of K.G. wing to inculcate the habit of eating healthy food. Toddlers displayed the platters prepared by their mothers. The aim of the competition was to remind parents to take extra care in preparing nutritious food for their children. Children carried the varieties of nutritious & mouthwatering food items in their tiffin from home. The parents of the young students had put great efforts to organize a special healthy food platter. The children also ate their Tiffin’s lovingly. Teachers motivated the students to eat healthy food for a healthy childhood and growth. The Principal of the school Ms. Jyoti Pujara said that students are the future of our nation and good health is a prerequisite to a strong future. This competition was organized keeping in view the recent trend of increase in the health problems among school children and growing craze for junk food. She said one should eat healthy food, balanced diet and not waste food. Later the best tiffin was adjudged based on the presentation and nutritional value and students were awarded and appreciated. Sanyam, Jasmeen, Keetika, Ananya, Bhavishya, Soham, Savi, Arsh, Gursimar, Ananya, Harleen, Kashish were the winner of this Competition. Overall Competition was won by the tiny tots of K.G. - Calendula On the whole, students enjoyed their food platters and thanked their mothers for preparing delicious food for them.

Farewell Party - 2018

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar organised the 'Customary Valediction' for Class XII students with full gusto and vigour. The luminaries who adorned the occasion were Sh. Rajesh Rudhra, Chairman, Chain of Green Land Schools, the Principal of the school, Ms. Jyoti & other eminent guests along with the staff members. It was an afternoon of mixed emotions for all present at the school programme to witness the official send off for the class XII students at the valedictory ceremony. The function commenced with the auspicious lighting of the sacred lamp. The students were welcomed traditionally by applying ‘Tilak’. The programme comprised of speeches, songs and games, thoughtfully and painstakingly arranged by class XI students as they wanted to make this occasion a truly memorable for their seniors. Nitish & Pallavi of Class XI expressed the hope that the students of class XII would perform well in the Board exams and be successful in all their future endeavours in their speech. The students enjoyed a sumptuous lunch as well as the scintillating cultural treat. Class XII students grew sentimental and emotional as they recalled their happy memories of more than 10 long years in the school. The main attractions of the farewell were the Graffiti Wall & Selfie Corner. The students danced to their heart’s content to the music belted out by the DJ. Many were seen clicking pictures of friends and teachers – capturing memories of school forever The passing out students in their farewell speech mused fondly about their learning in school and looked forward with keenness to their future calling this juncture not an end but a bend in their journey of life. They thanked their mentors and gave a token of gratitude to their Honourable Chairman, the Principal and teachers for helping them find their purpose in life with a promise to come back to their Alma Mater The Chairman of Chain of Green Land Schools Sh. Rajesh Rudhra congratulated everyone for this gala day and showered his blessings on the students and said, that the efforts, determination and confidence in students are appreciable. He extended his good wishes to them for a bright, successful and prosperous future. The Principal, Ms. Jyoti Pujara blessed the outgoing batch and appreciated their efforts for enthusiastically participating in varied competitions and raising the bar of perfection. She wished them luck to make a mark in the world outside, carrying forth the school motto of 'Be Good, Do Good, Be one.'

Holi Celebrations

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana added another ribbon in the rainbow of activities with the celebrations of Holi, the festival of colours with great enthusiasm. School campus wore an air of festivity, fun and frolic today. The students of Pre-primary participated in Card Making Activity. Holi was celebrated with organic colours and flowers. Children came dressed up in traditional clothes. A pleasant and happy environment thronged in the campus vibrantly. Students worked on the theme, “Celebrate Eco-friendly Holi with Organic Colours, Do not throw colours on plants and animals”. Teachers narrated the students the story of Holika and highlighted the significance of the festival. The Principal Ms. Jyoti Pujara greeted the students and explained the demerits of synthetic colours and encouraged them to play eco-friendly Holi. She said that these activities connect students with our rich culture and traditions. She also extended his good wishes for the exams. On the whole all the children enjoyed this special day and went home with smiles on their face.

FIRST DAY OF SESSION 2018-19

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana welcomed the incoming batch of 2018-19 with full zeal and high spirits. Attired in brand-new uniforms, the children took the first step in school with charming and gleeful faces with their bags carrying new books to begin their ride in the new class. Great excitement and enthusiasm was seen among the students as they were eager to meet their friends and teachers. Little toddlers were very excited to put their first stepping stone in the field of education with a blend of happiness and willingness to reach school. Teachers gave a warm welcome to the students to make them compatible with balloons, colourful pencils and self-made welcome cards. Movie show was organized for the students packed with plethora of fun and enjoyment. They were shown Disney movie and students seemed to be gone in the world of fantasy. Their day started with calligraphy which the students relish to join in. Teachers gave them a peep on rules & regulations and also taught them moral values. Announcing the start of the academic year for 2018-19, Principal of the school, Ms. Jyoti Pujara said, “Talents are the treasures of life and the hidden talents and abilities when developed and utilized properly can do miracles.” She welcomed the students and told the upcoming events and activities for the coming months. She advised the students to always be optimistic, to be positive in life and to consider everything new as a learning experience. She stressed on the need to become more focused in life and to always work with full commitment. On the whole, a pleasant happy environment thronged in the campus vibrantly.

World Heritage Day

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana organized Cultural Games of Punjab on the occasion of World Heritage Day for the students of Primary Section. The day was observed with an aim to create awareness among the students on the significance of cultural heritage sports. The programme witnessed an assortment of playful activities & games about our cultural legacy which was finely blended with an assurance to preserve it. The main attractions of the day were games like Gilli Danda, Bantey, Stapu, Poshampa, Geete, Pithu Garam etc. The students exhibited their ingenuity in different games. They were highly energetic and full of enthusiasm to give their best performance. It was a delight to watch the enthralling show of folk games of Punjab where students displayed their potential to win. The Principal of the school, Ms. Jyoti Pujara addressed the students and enlightened them with her thoughts about the rich heritage of India and encouraged them to be the part in the progress, unity & integrity. She also encouraged the students to engage in sports and outdoor games on the regular basis as watching or playing the sports & games will certainly enrich an individual’s intellectual and well-being quotient, develop memory skills & strategic thinking capabilities and help in improving the end strength of fingers. On the whole, the event proved to be a platform for the students to come together and play and be aware of the charm of games which are losing nowadays due to the busy schedule of children in the fast developing world.

World Earth Day

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana celebrated 'World Earth Day' with full vigour as mark of devotion towards mother Earth. The objective was to honour the only planet in the universe that can support life and to remind us that every day of the year ought to be followed as an Earth Day. Different competitions were organised for the students to mark the occasion. The students of classes II & III participated with great zest and zeal in ‘Inter Class Drawing and Colouring Competition’ on theme Save Earth. The students of classes VI to VIII followed the theme ‘End Plastic Pollution’ and Inter House Poster Making Competition was held. The young artists were seen completely engrossed in their art works. Their canvases were adorned with colourful images straight from their imaginations and the innocent interpretations of the theme. This fun filled activity witnessed an enthusiastic participation of all the students. Children came up with amazing artwork in drawing and each drawing was artistically coloured. It was a treat to the eyes. Addressing students on the occasion The Principal, Mrs. Jyoti Pujara appreciated students for their colourful artistic work and urged them to always keep these colours alive in their life. She added that we are fortunate to have born on Earth and we should join our hands together to save our mother Earth from the increasing environmental degradation. She advised the students not to use the poly bags and try to reduce pollution and make the environment clean and green. She announced the judgement & congratulated the winners. In an Inter House Poster Making Competition, First position was obtained by Dhruv (X-Bacon) of Kirti House, Second position was acquired by Savleen Singh (X-Chaucer) of Shakti House, Third position was won by Ridhima (XI Medical) of Jyoti House and Appreciation award was bagged by Ekamdeep Kaur (XI Commerce) of Jyoti House. Overall Shakti House was the winner. In an Inter Class Drawing and Colouring Competition, First position was secured by Sanvi (III Chaucer) and Saima (II Chaucer), Second position was won by Sunreet (III Chaucer) and Tejpreet (II Bacon) and Third position was acquired by Kirandeep Kaur (III Bacon), Ridhi (II Chaucer) & Samridhi (II Bacon). Conclusively the celebration was owed to the environment as mark of our true dedication towards the environment we live in.

Plantation Drive in the School from Income Tax Department

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana striving and contributing to the welfare of society and nation as well, had organized a formal visit of reverent, honest, ideals S. Arvinder Singh, the Additional Income Tax Commissioner of Ludhiana (Range – 3) along with Mr. Hari Narayan (ITO) & Ms. Charu of Income Tax Department. The officers were the part of plantation drive in the school from Income Tax Department. The officers had received a warm floral welcome by the Chairman of Chain of Green Land Schools Sh. Rajesh Rudhra and Principal Ms. Jyoti Pujara. Later a plantation drive was conducted. Four Plants were planted by the pious hands of Additional Income Tax Commissioner along with the students and staff members. S. Arvinder Singh addressed the students and motivated them to be an asset for country. He urged students to motivate & request their parents to pay the taxes regularly & honestly, as it plays a vital role in the growth of country and its development. Paying taxes is equally important as water to tree. He asked students to vow for country's development & regular growth by paying taxes regularly. The Chairman, Chain of Green Land Schools congratulated & welcomed the officers for their contribution to the awareness drive. He earnestly thanked the Chief Income Tax Commissioner Sh. Vinay Kumar Jha for his noble job and joining the whole mankind for planting trees, the symbol of life. He also addressed the students and conveyed to be honest & hardworking, presuming officers as their role models. He gave a message that as regular watering and care of plant give best fruit, similarly paying tax on time boosts country's infrastructure and would lead us on world map. It strengthens the economic growth of the country. He motivated one and all to join the drive started by honourable chief commissioner and grow more and more plants because plants are God’s precious gift which give us life. The programme ended with a pledge to be a saviour, hardworking and dedicated for the future of the country and would serve it whole-heartedly, when students would be ranked as officers. They would also contribute to pay taxes timely when they would grow up as responsible citizens and would convince their parents for the same. They would also lead eco-friendly drive to make earth a better place to live. Conclusively, the visit of officers, filled students with sense of responsibility, honesty & hardworking, which would keep on motivating them to strive them towards their goal.

Mango Day

It was a sweet juicy morning for the tiny tots of Green Land Convent School New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana as the little ones welcomed with sheer delight to celebrate Mango Day. It was a perfect day to celebrate the season of the king of fruits “ Mango” with a fun filled learning opportunity in the form of ‘Mango Party’. The Whole campus was adorned in green and yellow in tune with the theme of the party. The kids of Pre- Primary classes came dressed in shades of yellow and green colours looking exactly like the king of fruits. The “Mango Party” mania was kicked off by introducing different types of mangoes and their health benefits. The little star were quite excited and eager to know more about mangoes and their kinds. They touched, smelled and held the mangoes in an attempt to distinguish one from the other. The children engaged in various creative activities such as thumb printing, cutting & pasting, cutting of mangoes, drawing of mangoes etc. The children were able to associate with the shape & size of mango better than before and were proud of the drawings they made. The kids enjoyed rhymes and sang songs on the theme ‘Mango - The King of fruits’. During the lunch time, Children shared and relished various varities of mango they had brought as special tiffins. They learnt its cultural, social and economic significances, its medicinal properties and popular stories associated with the term ‘Mango’ The aim of organizing the event was to impart all information related to mango in a fun way.

XII Result

“Achievers never expose themselves, But their achievements expose them.” Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana once again stole the limelight by emerging victorious in class XII result declared by CBSE on 26th May, 2018. The Green Knights made their alma mater proud by giving an excellent result. An overflow of zeal and fervour drenched in the entire campus. Sandeep Kapoor captured the first position by scoring 93.4% marks in Non- Medical stream. He also scored highest marks in Physics, Chemistry, Maths i.e. 95 in each and 97 in Physical Education. Another feather to the school glory was added by Gagandeep from Commerce by fetching 84.2% marks. She scored highest marks in business studies i.e. 92 and in music i.e. 98. Kajal scored 92 highest marks in Economics. The school premises was charged with excitement, vigour and happiness on stupendous performance of students in Class XII result. Sh. Rajesh Rudhra, the Chairman of Chain of Green Land Schools and the Principal Mrs. Jyoti Pujara congratulated the students for their well-deserved recognition. Faculty, staff and parents encouraged the students to uphold the name of school in coming years as well. The Principal Mrs. Jyoti Pujara motivated the students to make hardwork key ingredient of their life and achieve their goals and shine in the future. She also appreciated the painstaking efforts taken by the Green Knights. The entire campus was reverberated with excitement and enthusiasm.

World Chocolate Day

“Chocolate does not make the world go around, But it certainly makes the ride worthwhile…………” Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana organized Inter – House Chocolate/Dessert Mocktail Making Competition on the occasion of World Chocolate Day. The students of different houses participated with great spirit and enthusiasm and marked their perfection in the field of taste and delight using common available ingredients. The participants of each house explained the speciality of their mocktail and chocolate desserts in our regular diet for maintaining good health and keeping diseases at bay. The Kindergarten section also celebrated the Chocolate Day. It was a treat watching the tiny tots decorating the chocolate desserts. They were extremely happy and enjoyed the day a lot. The main focus of the competition was not only the preparation of yummy choco desserts and mouth watering mocktail but also upon students’ artistic presentation which carried an aesthetic aspect. Equal emphasis was paid on the hygienic consideration which was to be kept in view while preparing and dressing the final product. It was amazing to watch the children engrossed in making chocolate desserts and dazzling mocktail and showcasing their talents. The remarkable spirit of future chefs elated each and everyone present there. The School Principal, Mrs. Jyoti Pujara said that she felt proud to see such higher level of expertise among her students. She also told the Green Knights good eating habits will help them not only to improve their nutritional well being, but also prevent nutition related diseases. Such events aim at bringing elements of fun and excitement through the spirit of competition. She applauded the efforts of students and announced the judgement. First position was acquired by Kirti House, second position was grabbed by Jyoti House, and third position was obtained by Shakti House. On the whole the day was proposed to be learning filled with joy and creativity which ended at addition in felicitating the students to have awareness of food nutritive value.

World Population Day

“Save the earth from over-exploitation caused by over population. Join the campaign to have enough space to live in………………” Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana organized ‘Inter House Punjabi Declamation Competition’ for classes VI-XII on the occasion of World Population Day. The aim of the competition was to hone the oratory skills of students and create awareness amongst them about the hazards of population explosion. The students beautifully presented their views on the topics Impact of Population on Economy, Hazards of Growing Population, Population & Unemployment etc., The rising rate of population especially the last six years has been alarming. The aim of the declamation competition was to offer students a chance to express their views on to hazards of growing population and the ways to abolish it . Each word was signifying as the pearl preserved in a shell. Each fact and quote exhorted upon the need to control the population in order to avoid its adverse effects on country’s economical, social and environmental aspects. The speeches by the senior students lifted the audience spellbound. The School Principal, Mrs. Jyoti Pujara applauded the efforts of the vigorous orators and said that the vision of our country lies in the hands of the youth. So, they should come forward to curb the social and national evil to make our country more strong and realize the dream of Sri Rabindranath Tagore and APJ Abdul Kalam. She boosted the morale of students by asking them to participate in such type of activities as these activities help the students to develop confidence and improve their communication skills. Inderpreet Kaur (X) of Jagriti House and Dhruv Arora (X) of Kirti House were the winner of the Inter House Punjabi Declamation Competition, second position was captured by Jashanpreet Kaur (XI) and Mehak Sidhu (IX) of Jyoti House, third position was won by the Jahanvi Singla (VIII) of Kirti House and appreciation award was bagged by Anmol Kumar (IX) of Kirti House and Manleen Kaur (IX) of Shakti House. Jyoti House secured the overall position.

Inter House Solo Sufi Competition

“Singers are not great, because they have some special technique. They are great because of their passion…………” Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana organized a ‘Inter House Solo Sufi Singing Competition’ on the occasion of ‘World Youth Skills Day’. The Sincere participation of the students made the contest exhuberant, soulful and sereve. There were two categories, Category – A (VI- VIII) and Category – B (IX – XII). The mesmerizing rendition of the sufi songs took the audience to the heavenly stupor and the whole auditorium echoed with the Melodious and soothing compositions and singing. The future sufi singers set the stage on fire with their mesmerizing performances. The entire campus echoed with the mellifluous music. The Principal of the School, Ms. Jyoti Pujara appreciated the students for the prodigious efforts and performances. She motivated the students to participate actively in such events or activities as they provide platform to the aspiring singers and enhance their singing skills. In her speech she said the students that Sufi music is the devotional music that connects with heart and soul. It is the music of submission and surrender one’s self to God and transcends all religious boundaries. At the end she announced the judgement and congratulated the winners. The students were judged on the basis of voice skills, Rhythm and Tempo, Vocal Expressions and Entertainment Value. In Category A First position was obtained by Palak Thakur (VIII Chaucer) of Shakti House, Second position was taken by Chahat Gupta (VII Bacon) of Kirti House and the third position was secured by Sakshi Bhangar (VII Bacon) of Jagriti House and appreciation award was bagged by Sneha Tondon (VIII Chaucer) of Jyoti House. In Category B First position was taken by Riya Tiwari (XI Bacon) of Shakti House, Second position was fetched by Arshleen Kaur (X Chaucer) of Kirti House and the third position was won by Devansh Dhingra (IX Bacon) of Jyoti House. Overall Shakti House was declared winner. On the whole the competition was a great success and standard set by the students were very high.

World No Tobacco Day 2018

Tobacco kill millions………………………………… We are at a war with tobacco industry and will continue until we beat this monster……… Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana celebrated ‘World No Tobacco Day’ on 31st May, 2018 to highlight the deadly health hazards associated with tobacco. No Tobacco Drive began with the objective to make the youth aware of harmful effects of tobacco consumption as well as its complications to others. Tobacco use kills more than seven million people around the world every year and that number is predicted to grow unless anti-tobacco actions are increased. In order to make the pupil easily get aware of all the problems and health complications caused by tobacco chewing or smoking, a Power Point Presentation was shown. Inter House slogan writing competition was organised for the classes VI to VIII and X to XII on the theme “Tobacco -the Monster”. The Green Knights enthusiastically participated in the competition. They made beautiful and inspirational poster highlighting the ill-effects of tobacco. The Principal of illustrious school, Ms. Jyoti Pujara extolled the efforts of the student to be the harbinger of change in the society. She informed the student that tobacco is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD) and is Cancerous. She also told the students about the need to make our country smoke and disease free so that the present and coming generations breathe (live) happily. Conclusively, the entire day was devoted to encourage the students to make our country tobacco free country.

TEACHERS DAY

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana celebrated Teacher’s Day to thank the teaching faculty for the contributions they make to the lives of the Green knights. The Members of the Student Council, who had been preparing for the grand day for more than a week, organised a great show dedicated to their teachers. The Principal of the school, Ms. Jyoti Pujara, teachers and the students paid floral tribute to the great learner, scholar and educationist Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary. The students presented flowers to the Principal of the school as a token of love and gratitude. The day buzzed with excitement and smiles all around. A beautiful cultural programme was organized to honour the teachers in which students performed on various dance numbers. The programme started with the singing of the ecstatic song by Kunika of Class XII followed by group song by the students of class VIII. Inderpreet of class X expressed her gratitude through a speech by bringing everyone’s attention to the immense importance of teachers and the role they play in children’s lives. Bhangra by the girls of Class X left everyone spellbound. A wonderful powerpoint presentation made by Ayesha of Class XII, showing a collage of teachers in their different roles and duties in the school campus was an endearing gesture and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Teachers seemed exuberant while enjoying together. As a tribute, students of senior classes initiated to conduct a mock session of school administration and teaching where they played the different roles like Principal, Supervisors and teachers of all subjects. Students were attired in disguise of their favourite teacher, whom they admire the most and the one who inspires them the most. It was a remarkable effort made by students to pay the heartfelt gratitude to their felicitators. The students left no stone unturned to convey their thanks to their guides. Lastly and most importantly, The Principal, Ms. Jyoti Pujara shared a few words of encouragement for the students who had worked for days behind the scenes to organise the event. She congratulated the staff members, thanked them for their meritorious services and inspired them to work with integrity and credibility which is very vital for their profession. On the whole, it was truly a proud day for the teachers to bask in the love and attention they received from their students!

EXHIBITION

PRESS NOTE To instill a scientific temperament among the students, an exhibition of models made by the school students was commemorated in Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana. The school always put forth one step ahead for student intellectual growth. It was a great platform for the students to showcase their practical knowledge as well as a unique learning experience. Under the guidance of their teachers, students from K.G. to XII made a stunning display of their innovative projects and models based on various themes of Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Literature, Computer, Music and Art & Craft. The school students put forth intriguing models, activities and games that beautifully revealed the notion that “By doing we can learn better” Not only were the exhibits profoundly educative, they were simply fun to observe and learn from. As one entered, one could not resist oneself from praising the models that really built the creativity of the students and put forth the imagination into the creative world. They explained to the inquisitive parents how the models work and how it will help in other way. Parents, teachers as well as visiting dignitaries were amazed to see how our students could easily explain to an inquisitive mind. Onlooker were very highly praised how beautifully the poetry can swayed the mind of the layman and put them into that gone genre. The models of science were on the benchmark as they presented the yet to come and innovation, creativity and scientific skills were highly collaborative. The models of LUDHIANA SMART CITY and Social science displayed a great deal of appreciation. It were the combined efforts the distinguished Principal of the school Mrs. Jyoti Pujara, staff and students to make this event a great success. Not only this the Principal of the school always motivates the teachers to teach well with the coming new ways so that the students should not be lagged behind with the coming world. She always inspired her students to participate in such events as these events will not only help in stimulating creativity and inventiveness among students but will also generate their interest for these subjects. All in all, it was a creative journey of discovery, a reminder that when children are given a voice and listened to, they are able to rise to challenges, be imaginative and succeed.
